I started going to Balance4life approximately 1.5 years ago. A friend of mine told me about the core training, Gee the motivating trainer and the small groups where lots of personal attention is given. I’ve been to many gyms in the past and was slightly skeptical, but decided to give it a try.
I started going to the Core training classes at Balance4life to lose weight and gain increase my posture. I have been suffering from a bad scoliosis (where your spine looks more like an S instead of a straight line), and have been to many physiotherapists and mensendieck for numerous years, but unfortunately it didn’t help and accepted that having back problems would be part of my life.
The first couple of Core lessons I took where a real eye opener. I was going to the gym and for the first time in years enjoying it (although I had severe muscle aches afterwards!). After a month or so I already started noticing a difference, my body started to change (slimmer) and I had so much more energy. More importantly though, slowly but surely my back problems started to become less.
After approximately 6 months I decided that I really wanted to work my body to the maximum as I was going to be a bride. I started to add Personal Training to the Core training. Although my focus was fat reducing & sculpting, Gee took a lot of time to find out where my strengths and weaknesses lie. He quickly found out that my back and shoulders were really underdeveloped, so we focused on these areas together with reducing fat. After a period of 6 months I had lost 10 kilos and felt great about my body, my back pains were significantly improved (something that years of physios never managed to do) and my posture has changed significantly.
It took a lot of training and determination, but having Gee as my coach made the whole process so much easier. I was very self conscious about my body, but when I see my wedding pictures I’m so pleased that I did it, I love my new body and I looked great in my wedding dress! Thanks Gee.
